Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Air Duct Cleaning
A lot of things can build up in the air ducts (dirt, dust, pollen, animal dander, allergens, construction debris) and getting them cleaned is important to improve your IAQ (Indoor Air Quality). This is especially important during allergy season or for any residence with a person that suffers from respiratory issues (emphysema, asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis).
A dirty or clogged dryer vent is a hazard because of the lint build up that can potentially catch fire if it finds an ignition source. Also, a clogged dryer vent decreases the dryer efficiency and increases the energy usage because the dryer has to work longer and harder to dry clothes. A clogged dryer vent can also decrease the life of the dryer and increase maintenance and repair costs.
Oh Boy ADC uses positive compressed air flow to clean air ducts and dryer vents and uses a unique system that utilizes the air handler (furnace fan) to push the debris back out to the air supply vents where it is captured in a powerful vacuum. Traditional air duct cleaning companies cut a section out of the furnace to hook up the vacuum and send the debris back towards the furnace (negative air flow) which can potentially cause damage to the air handler (furnace fan) and after the ducts are cleaned, the section that was cut from the furnace needs to be patched.
That depends on the square footage of the space being cleaned, but Oh Boy ADC takes about half the time of traditional air duct cleaning companies because the system we use requires much less set up time as well as being much less labor intensive. With the traditional negative air flow method, a residence of 3,000 sq. ft. takes around 4-6 hours. The positive air flow method (which we utilize) takes around 2-3 hours.
Oh Boy ADC charges by the total square footage and the type of space being cleaned (residential or commercial). Go to our Pricing page for more information.
